Khustai National Park Resort

Resort
Khustai Resort (Hustai Resort) is a ger resort located in outskirts of Ulaanbaatar city. A ger is a traditional Mongolian, round, lattice-framed felt dwelling. Our warm gers make it a comfortable year-round home.

Each ger is equipped with beds, chairs, tables, storage space and wood stoves for heating, and can sleep one up to four people comfortably. Next to the ger camp is the building, which has dining room where you may dine alongside, the kitchen staff prepares both Mongolian and Western dishes. Also there are two deluxe hotel rooms for two people, two rooms for 2 to 4 people. Hot showers are available in the morning and evening. Laundry facilities and a sauna are also available for a small fee.

Moilt Camp
In the Moilt Valley in the northwest section of the park there is a small cluster of cabins. Our Moilt Camp is located deep within the core zone of the park where Takhi and many other species can be found. Access is strictly controlled and only a small number of tourists are permitted to stay.

The cabins have beds and bedding but no cooking facilities, and a diesel generator supplies electricity. Gas stoves and food for dinner can be brought from the kitchen at the ger camp, and picnic breakfasts and lunch can also be supplied. The camp has pit toilets but no showers or a reliable water source. The Moilt Camp is a pleasant four to five hour walk from the administration building. If you wish, you may spend a night in a cabin and walk back through the forests and open valleys of the park. Hustai staff can drive you to the camp and collect your belongings the next day, leaving you to hike with only day packs.

Family Stay
When travelling in and around the park it is rewarding to pay a visit to some of the local families. Experiencing the nomadic lifestyle invariably is one of the highlights of our programs. These families are very hospitable and will do everything to make you feel at home at their ger. They will offer you local drinks and meals like airag, Mongolian tea, yoghurt, khuushuur (fried dumpling), buuz (steamed dumpling) and khorkhog (mutton cooked in a traditional way).
